This is a good quality and very heavily cast Iona style sterling silver caddy spoon dating from the mid 20th century.
In 1945, some 4 years after the death of the famous Iona silversmith, Alexander Ritchie and his wife, Euphemia founded the company Celtic Art Industries Hamish Bowman was an admire of Ritchie's work and C. Was essentially founded to carry on the tradition of the Iona Celtic style silver and jewellery produced on the Scottish island of Iona from the early 20th century through to the early 1940's.
Were known to have used original Ritchie designs (perhaps with original moulds handed down) and made their own pieces heavily inspired by the Iona architecture, fauna and flora. The design of this piece is partly, if not wholly taken from one of Alexander Ritchie's own designs being 8.8cm in length and the width across the bowl is 3.7cm at its widest point - the total unpacked weight is 37g.
